codedetector,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

If the HotKey has been set by your code, then reusing HotKeySet without a defined function name will unset the HotKey.

Thus omitting the function parameter "captureEsc" ?

You're close, but for starters: Did you check the helpfile for this information as it is answered there in an example.

Well,

Did try the help file, could not find the right place. However GOOGLING  I found this:

'So, to completely disable an hotkey set with HotKeySet function we need to NOT specify, always with HotKeySet

function, the same key (previously used to call the final function) without any associated function:'

HotKeySet(“E”,_Ekey”)> HotKeySet(“E”)

So does this mean that for the Escape key it should be as following:

HotKeySet ("Esc")

?

Try looking again in the helpfile for HotKeySet() as this very example is shown, but you need to scroll down and do more than just glance! ;)
