sesk Posted August 7, 2016 Share Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) In the tools menu there is a "Stop Executing" menu item linked to the Ctrl-Break shortcut. While running a script, this item becomes available to click. But when trying to use the shortcut, it does not seem to have any effect. This functionality is also mentioned when running as script in the console: >Running:(3.3.14.2):C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\autoit3.exe "test.au3" --> Press Ctrl+Alt+Break to Restart or Ctrl+Break to Stop Looks like pressing on the Break key counts as Pause; HotKeySet("{BREAK}", "...") does not trigger the function, while HotKeySet("{PAUSE}", "...") does Edited August 7, 2016 by sesk Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sesk Posted August 7, 2016 Author Share Posted August 7, 2016 Using the menu stops the script. My installed version, 3.3.14.2, seems to be the latest. This is the output. >"C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\SciTE\..\AutoIt3.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\SciTE\AutoIt3Wrapper\AutoIt3Wrapper.au3" /run /prod /ErrorStdOut /in "C:\Users\User\Desktop\test.au3" /UserParams +>03:47:34 Starting AutoIt3Wrapper v.16.612.1119.0 SciTE v.3.6.6.0 Keyboard:00000409 OS:WIN_10/ CPU:X64 OS:X64 Environment(Language:0409) CodePage:0 utf8.auto.check:4 +> SciTEDir => C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\SciTE UserDir => C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\AutoIt v3\SciTE\AutoIt3Wrapper SCITE_USERHOME => C:\Users\Phil\AppData\Local\AutoIt v3\SciTE >Running AU3Check (3.3.14.2) from:C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3 input:C:\Users\User\Desktop\test.au3 +>03:47:34 AU3Check ended.rc:0 >Running:(3.3.14.2):C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\autoit3_x64.exe "C:\Users\User\Desktop\test.au3" --> Press Ctrl+Alt+Break to Restart or Ctrl+Break to Stop Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Developers Jos Posted August 7, 2016 Developers Share Posted August 7, 2016 There is no real relation between the release of AutoIt3 and the SciTE4AutoIt3 version. You are running the latest AutoIt3Wrapper and I've just tested and when I press Ctrl+FN+Break then it stops fine. ( Break on my Laptop is FN+PGDN to get Break) Are you running any other program that is capturing keys? sesk Posted August 7, 2016 Author Share Posted August 7, 2016 There are no other programs capturing keys. I have a desktop keyboard and neither left or right ctrl + break triggers the shortcut (or shift/left alt/right alt). Is this keybinding defined somewhere? I would be interested in seeing the keycode required to trigger it. Noticably because Microsoft defines a VK_CANCEL and a VK_PAUSE, which are not the same. And my Pause/Break key doesn't seem to be sending VK_CANCEL, but VK_PAUSE, and as a desktop keyboard without FN, I can't toggle between them. Have you tried using a desktop computer with a standard layout keyboard? ...Actually, reading this: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Break_key#/Modern_keyboards The mentioned Ctrl+Sroll Lock combination seems to trigger the keybinding. Developers Jos Posted August 7, 2016 Developers Share Posted August 7, 2016 The Ctrl-Break combination is monitored by SciTE itself. Any other defined combination in AutoIt3Wrapper.ini is done through a simple SetHotKey() statement. The SciTE Source is available on the SciTE website in case you want to have a look at the source. sesk Posted August 8, 2016 Author Share Posted August 8, 2016 Yea SciTE has it bound to Ctrl+VK_CANCEL VK_CANCEL, IDM_STOPEXECUTE, VIRTKEY, CONTROL And I guess some keyboards use the "Pause/Break" to send Pause, others Break. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
