Office 2016 and Outlook

Recommended Posts

With previous version of office I could open the Mail Dialog by running control mlcfg32.cpl

or

run('"C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe" C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\MLCFG32.CPL",@0','C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\')

Control does not work with Office 2016 and the below does not work either

run('"C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe" C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\MLCFG32.CPL",@0','C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16')

Any one have any suggestions  ?

@HighlanderSword

If i am not whrong if you try to open a new mail you can also use

Send ({RCTRL}N)

in that case you have to open an outlook process before the send command.

Plus the Outlook window has to be active because the active window consumes the sent string.

More reliable is the OutlookEX UDF ;)

OK I have a quick question.  I am trying to automate the office 2016 install and the AutoIT v3 Windows Info tool is failing me.  I am not getting any Visible or Hidden text to key off of for the successful completion of the install which leaves me the ugly way of just timing it and crossing my fingers.  I am not usually that type so looking for a more reliable way to determine the installer has completed successfully.

PS.  I am surprised that AutoIT v3 doesn't see the buttons and checkboxes on the installer window.  Any thoughts about this would be appreciated as well...

Currently just using:

Winwait("Microsoft Office Professional")

WinActivate("Microsoft Office Professional")

Sleep(500)

ControlClick("Microsoft Office Professional", "", "", "Left", 1, 71, 506)

Sleep(500)

Send("{ENTER}")

Sleep(500)

Send("{ENTER}")

Sleep(10000)

Send("{ENTER}")

UGLY I know!!!

Thanks as always - TJ
