Function not working properly

Recommended Posts

This is the second language I'm trying to learn. Right now I'm trying to make my function check for an internet connection and run a program if it detects an internet connection. When testing the script it doesn't seem to start the program or return any errors. Any and all help is appreciated. Here is the code.

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>
#include <WinAPIDiag.au3>
#include <WinAPIDlg.au3>
#include <WinAPISys.au3>
#RequireAdmin

$funk = "funk"

Func funk()

Local $iNetworkConnected = _WinAPI_IsNetworkAlive()

If $iNetworkConnected Then ShellExecute ('C:\Users\Delta\Desktop\Project Charlie Sheen\Lulu.exe')

If Not $iNetworkConnected Then Call($funk)

EndFunc

Sleep(100)
WEnd

Welcome, It's not that your way wouldn't work,(using functions) it's just that there are many ways for the same.

You don't want to re-declare a variable millions of times. Also to call a function all you need is to write it and () like 'funk()'

_WinAPI_IsNetworkAlive() is included in

#include <WinAPIDiag.au3>

No problem with that.

I would use _WinAPI_IsInternetConnected instead of  _WinAPI_IsNetworkAlive because that's only going to tell you if your network is working, not if you have an internet connection. Also,  _WinAPI_IsNetworkAlive returns 1 if connected to a LAN and 2 if connected to a WAN, it doesn't tell you anything about an internet connection status.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
