pnyfat
I know this question is too broad to answer. What I really wanted to ask are the following questions: 1. Is it possible to program something mimicking the game mode of "A Dark Room" with AutoIT GUI? (assuming I'd spend time digging into AutoIT GUI) 2. Since the game "A Dark Room" is open-sourced with codes available online, can I adopt the game to AutoIT? If so, how? ( I have no idea how to work with css though) 3. Can AutoIT's GUI be like "A dark room" on the website? I mean, with less bulky buttons (pardon my word choice) or more boundaryless buttons ? I've been coding in AutoIT for about 2 months now, but only using scripts to do easy tasks. I felt like it's very similar to Java/VB which I have some experiences with. I'm checking out the GUI design, and realized it's like Visual Basics from some old times. Now I wonder if I can fulfill my childhood's dream to write a simple text-based game. Thanks for the help! TheSaint
@pnyfat - I see you have fallen for the trap that some do, with the AutoIt name. AutoIt stands for 'automate it'. The 'It' at the end does NOT stand for IT, as in IT department. pnyfat 1 Make sure brain is in gear before opening mouth! Remember, what is not said, can be just as important as what is said. Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted January 20, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) @pnyfat After a brief glance at A Dark Room I would say yes, you could make something similar with AutoIt. As far as the GUI and button limitations, if you do some searching on the forum you'll find different contributions in this area. This one, for example, shows how to make more rounded buttons: Edited January 20, 2017 by JLogan3o13 pnyfat 1 "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind.
