Finding a button with a screenshot of it

Recommended Posts

I have an app that can render differently based on several factors.
ex: Content that changes, user configuration, etc.

I need to click a button, but its position can change dramatically.
I'd like to use a screenshot I've made of the button to find & click it.

It would be really helpful if someone explain how to do that!

Flashfires,

And how does this differ from the thread you already have running?

Especially as you have yet to answer the question in that thread as to what application you're trying to automate. Your "let's say, for example" explanation is not giving people enough information to assist you.

How to get your question answered on this forum!

@Melba23 The focus of that question has shifted to trying to implement java access bridge with various UDFs.  I'm still working on implementing some of the proposed solutions, but it's taking a while as I'm very inexperienced with this.

@JLogan3o13 I'm working on it, trying to implement one solution before moving on to the next.  As they say, if you chase 2 rabbits, you'll lose them both.  I do see that people have asked for more details, I'll see what I can do to provide them.

At the end of the day, I appreciate the help in trying to setup java access bridge in my other question, and I'm trying to implement it.  But for the purposes of meeting my deadline, and answer to this question will help me get where I need to be.  I hope that makes sense.
