_FileReadToArray Encoding Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi

I try to use _FileReadToArray on an ANSI encoded text file, but it reads some characters wrong. eg ©,® replaced with "?"

If i open file.au3 and add a +521 to _FileReadToArray Fileopen, its works.

Is it something with the text file, or the function?

Thank you

     swuforce,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

That file is very obviously game-related, so we come to the $64,000 question: are you reading it as part of playing the game, or just for interest? A read of the Forum rules will explain why I ask.

I know the rules, that's games are forbidden. That's why i don't ask here, because i'm making text editors for games in my freetime. :)

Actually it's not a problem, i already put a FileGetEncoding to the _FileReadToArray function.

I just met with this error(?) a couple of times, and i like to hear your opinion what causes this.

Maybe it would be good a plus parameter to where user can set the encoding of the source file.
