qwert
I have a GUI with a couple of IE objects on it. I want to freeze the screen while the objects are updated with different content. The obvious choice is the LOCK/UNLOCK commands for the GUI, which work in other instances. But, apparently, the IE components kick in and reactivate the GUI on their own. I've even tried WinSetTrans with the same result ... and Minimize ... and Hide. Is there some other way to freeze a GUI? ... or a way to change the IE behavior? Thanks in advance for any help. _IENavigate ($oIE1, $url, 0 ) _IENavigate ($oIE2, $url, 0 )

qwert
Thanks for your response. I took a look and from the description, that almost seems the opposite ... to keep some other window from stealing focus. Have I misinterpreted? Quote ; Name...........: __IELockSetForegroundWindow ; Description ...: Locks (and Unlocks) current Foreground Window focus to prevent a new window ; from stealing it (e.g. when creating invisible IE browser) But that did give me an idea for having an ONTOP window appear while the objects are updating ... equivalent to a full-screen progress bar. So far, that's the only thing I have come up with.
TheSaint
Have a look at the BlockInput command in the Help file, as it might be relevant. Be very cautious with its use though. qwert
Quote I want to freeze the screen while the objects are updated with different content. Thanks for responding. I want to clarify that I want to pause any display updates ... mainly because of the crude/awkward manner that the IE objects are updated. But I'm finding that those IE objects are being controlled at some level above the normal GUI operations. And I haven't been able to locate meaningful documentation. Everything seems oriented to these IE display elements running in a full browser environment. What I've resorted to is an overlay that covers the entire GUI with a message panel. It mostly works, but I'm having problems handling any IE messages related to the content.
TheSaint
Sorry if I mistook you, but I got the impression you wanted to prevent interaction until they had finished updating. The issue no doubt, is because AutoIt does not create the actual object from scratch, just embeds an existing object (created by Microsoft) and you have a few functions to gain interaction, but I imagine very little control over things in the way you want. That's my understanding anyway ... and I could be completely wrong, as objects are almost beyond my knowledge ... so just pure conjecture on my part (seems logical).
