Basic function Q

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I Continually encounter this  ..

If I'm using a function that start like this:

Func _On_Click($do = 0)
if $do then
..

when I run the function  On_Click(1) it will work as expected
But what if I call it without the parameter which should default to 0 , by then the $do var isn't declared ?

I read that the 2 first place holders are for [Const] [ByRef] ..

So just to clear this point , what will be a recommended syntax to go by to make it work cleanly ..

thanks

Edit: The one place the function will fail, is from TrayItemSetOnEvent(-1, "_On_Click")

Thanks Subz,

So far with all I have tried it doesn't seem like TrayItemSetOnEvent() goes through elevating\declaring the parameters of a function .. Not to me at least ..

edit: However, declaring a global $bDo true or false before any calls fixes the problem :)

You can not call a function with parameters with an OnEvent call, or a hotkey.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
