jubjub
I am really having a hard time with this one. I am more familiar with scripting languages with a simple escape character, these nested quotes and ticks are tricky. I can't seem to get the syntax on this one correct, any help would be appreciated: FileWrite("for /f "tokens=1,2 delims=[]" %%A in ('ping myhostname.tld ^| find "Pinging"') do set ipaddress=%%B" I get the whole "if it contains quotes, wrap it in ticks instead!" but this one has quotes nested in ticks and I am not sure how to handle that. jchd
Just double significant single or double quotes, the species of the enclosing string. BTW the first FileWrite parameter is missing and a closing ) is needed. FileWrite(<handle_or_path>, 'for /f "tokens=1,2 delims=[]" %%A in (''ping myhostname.tld ^| find "Pinging"'') do set ipaddress=%%B') Edited August 15, 2017 by jchd This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available).
