xcaliber13
I have an AutoIt script that reads a file then does some other processes to get the results that I am looking for. I read the file and for testing a just display it in a Message box. When I run this in Windows 7 the correct data is being shown in the message box and the script works correctly. When I run this in Window 10 the message box is only showing what you see in the attached file. Is there some changes that have to be made so the FileRead works in Windows 10 as it does in Windows 7? Both are 64 bit OS Thank you

BrewManNH
Post a script that shows the problem and perhaps a sample file that we can test this on. FileRead works fine in Win10. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. xcaliber13
Here is the part of my code that works different in Windows 10 via Windows 7 #include <file.au3> $aData=FileRead('C:\Temp\temp.txt') MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", $aData) I am unable to provide sample file. Pretty straight forward. Read the file display in Message box. Windows 7 the data reads correctly. Windows 10 no data just the stuff in the attached file in original post. I do not understand why. Was hoping somebody had the same issue and could say OH! yeah, just set this setting in Windows 10. At least that is what I am thinking is the issue. Thank you your help. Without something to base this on, I can't agree with the rest of this. I open a text file on my computer (Windows 10 x64 Enterprise), and it displays just fine in a MsgBox.
