fopetesl Posted September 6, 2017 Share Posted September 6, 2017 _GetIP() uses: http://checkip.dyndns.org, http://www.myexternalip.com/raw and http://www.bot.whatismyipaddress.com The 'bot' address fails on DNS search. The first two work as expected from England. However, my final code needs to work worldwide but there's an issue in China where all these URLs are blocked. So I need to (re)write _GetIP() to access a so far unknown Chinese equivalent of checkip../myexternalip.. I could use a ping but I don't know of a Chinese 'universal' IP address guaranteed to work.
