Automating the SciTE Editor

I want to automate "Build" (F7) in the SciTE Editor. So far I have managed to load the proper source file but at that point am a little lost. I have used the AutoITInfo tool but can't get a grip on how to send a "F7" to do the build.... has anyone done this before?

So, you want to write a script (which you have to either hit F5 or double-click to initiate) that presses F7 for you? Are you building a Rube Golberg machine?

I have about 10 scripts that are all interrelate. When I change one I need to re-compile all 10. Gets a little annoying. Load script, press F7, repeat. It would be a lot easier to write a script to do it so I can start the script and walk away. I have the script to the point it will start the SciTE editor and load the program. I am stuck on how to send it a F7 at that point.....

So why don't you write a script compiling all these related scripts with command line?

The Aut2Exe.exe program (the compiler) can be run from the command line as follows:

Aut2exe.exe / In < infile.au3 >

I have an auto builder for all my projects (above 10) .
I'm using them in my own framework.

The point is to watch each script and in case of error have an oportunity to easly check and fix such error, and an easy way to make next step.

 

Try to use:

ControlSend("[REGEXPTITLE:(?i).*" & $s_file & '.*SciTE.*]', '', '[CLASS:Scintilla; INSTANCE:1]', '{F7}')

Of course there are better methods , but I create this auto builder about 5 years ago, and as so far I do not have any feeling that I need to make it better.

Well.... I got to be honest. I like the speed of Aut2Exe but I have a couple Wrapper directives, namely Run_Au3Stripper=Y

I have been out of the loop for a while. I used the stripper to give me line numbers in case someone called and said "I just got such and such an error on line xxxx". Do most people use the stripper? Other then that I just set the icon and the outfile. So.... are the wrapper directives really needed?

Just copy the autoit3wrapper commandline you see in the SciTE ouputpane when compiling the script and put that in a batchfile or autoit3script to batch your process.

Every time I compile a script I include the au3 which I can extract via command line parameter. Second I wrote a small exe that strips with option /mo. So if an error occur and the line is said to me I exctract and strip then. I don't want a big archive of original and stripped au3-file in many versions.
