Why is this not working?

Can you translate that to English?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

@Bamse it appears (after having to translate via Google) the script cannot find the Settings.txt file. Is the file located in that directory?

In the future, please post code (pictures are for Facebook) and, as this is an English forum, use Google Translate if necessary to post error messages in English.

Which leads back to my original question, does that file exist in the directory you're specifying?

Does it also fail when you comment the line:  #RequireAdmin  and run in normal mode?

Its gonna be something simple. You are missing a character in the file name, or something along those lines. Go to an explorer window and navigate to the file. Click in the file path field and select the entire contents. Press Ctrl+C to copy the selection. Go back to your script and past that into your script. Make sure the filename itself is exact. I've had situations similar to this, where I missed a letter and didn't notice it.

Run("C:\Users\William\Desktop\Settings.txt","C:\Users\William\Desktop")

I'm assuming you're AutoIt is downloaded to a different drive rather than the C:\ so this should work :)

I can try that

It is because Autoit doesnt have access to that directory - Desktop of the user Wiliam.
So are you starting autoit/scite/the exe file as another user?

You can easily test this by changing the file location to c:\ directly
