Daboy85
Good Afternoon All, So I am seeing if anyone can help me in CMD I am executing an install of a program with something like this: "install Program 1.0.exe" C:\Install Dir\ /qn The exe executes and then installs to C:\installdir without a prompt. WHen I try shellexecute (@comspec, '/c "install Program 1.0.exe" "C:\install Dir" /qn ') Its executing the install from the location in which the complied script is. I know there are spaces in the paths which I can not remove due to client's request. Anyone able to assist??
BrewManNH
First, you don't need the @Comspec part of the command line. Second, add the third parameter to your ShellExecute command and have it point to the WorkingDir. shellexecute ("install Program 1.0.exe", '"C:\install Dir" /qn ', "C:\Install Dir") Something like this. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Daboy85
Please forgive me for asking a stupid question is the working Dir, the install dir?
BrewManNH
The workingdir would be the same as the directory that the CMD command opens at, if there isn't one specified it opens at the scriptdir. I would try it with and without the WorkingDir and using the modified ShellExecute line I posted and see what happens. Daboy85
Well that worked. So here is my situation in a nutshell, I want install an exe and then move files, but I want to leverage SCCM to do the execution as it stands I can double click and run as administrator and the script runs as desired. only as admin which isn't good, i need it to run by a double click, also, when I push it out with SCCM I notice my line that installs the program turnicates prematurely, and then runs the rest of the script. I added runwait, as well as a sleep but its not working via sccm delivery. #RequireAdmin shellexecutewait ('"\\server\software\program.exe"' , '"C:\Program Files (x86)program" /qn ' , '"C:\Program Files (x86)\program"') sleep ("500000") FileCopy ("\\server\software\Dependencies\Certificates\" , "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\Certs" ,0) DirCreate ("C:\Program Files (x86)\program\lib\Credant_DDPE") DirCreate ("C:\Program Files (x86)\program\lib\SafeBoot Technology\safeboot") FileCopy ("\\server\Software\Dependencies\Encaselib\Credant_DDPE" , "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\lib\Credant_DDPE" , 8) FileCopy ("\\server\Software\Dependencies\Encaselib\SafeBoot Technology\safeboot", "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\lib\SafeBoot Technology\safeboot" , 8) FileCopy ("\\server\\software\Dependencies\enscripts\" , "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\enscript" ,0) FileMove ("C:\server\Eprogram\config\FileTypes.ini" , "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\config\oldfiletypes.ini",0) FileCopy ("\\server\software\dependencies\config\" , "C:\Program Files (x86)\program\config\", 0)
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted May 4, 2018 Moderators Share Posted May 4, 2018 If you are pushing out with SCCM why are you then calling all the way back to the server for the install? Your package should include all necessary files for the install, brought down to the local repository. Secondly, how are you tagging the package in SCCM, to run as logged in user or SYSTEM? Daboy85
Well I commented the install line out, and used the script strictly for the moving of files. I am tagging the the package for SYSTEM
