Msgbox issue

Recommended Posts

Hi I have the following code:

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>
#include <Misc.au3>
#include <AutoItConstants.au3>
$main = True
$escape_hex = "1B"
$lmb_hex = "01"
While $main
   if _IsPressed($lmb_hex) Then
      $mouseposition = MouseGetPos()
      $x = MsgBox(0, "Mouse Position.", ("X = " & $mouseposition[0] & " | " & "Y = " & $mouseposition[1]), 0 )
   EndIf
   if _IsPressed($escape_hex) Then
      MsgBox(0, "Exit.", "Exit.")
      $main = False
   EndIf
WEnd

The purpose of this code is to let each click reopen a msgbox to tell you the position of the mouse. Escape key down ends the script. The problem is the msgbox has to manually be closed everytime to reopen the msgbox. How can this code be modfied to close the msgbox down everytime the mouse is clicked?

don't use a message box, use a tooltip.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Hi autonomouslogic

I rearranged an example from the help file, with same results, hope you'll like it...from a newbie to a newbie :)

#include <AutoItConstants.au3>
#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

HotKeySet("{ESC}", "Terminate")
Example()

Func Example()
   While 1
      $aMgp = MouseGetPos()
      ToolTip("x: " & $aMgp[0] & ", y: " & $aMgp[1], $aMgp[0] + 10, $aMgp[1] + 10, _
         "Escape", $TIP_INFOICON , BitOr($TIP_BALLOON, $TIP_FORCEVISIBLE))
      Sleep(10)
   WEnd
EndFunc     ; ==> Example

Func Terminate()
   HotKeySet("{ESC}")   ; avoids repeated or continuous press on Esc key
   If MsgBox(BitOr($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, $MB_YESNO), "Escape pressed", "Really quit ?") = $IDYES Then
      Exit
   EndIf
   HotKeySet("{ESC}", "Terminate")
EndFunc     ; ==> Terminate
