Error capture problem when object no longer exist

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm quite fresh with autoit. Appreciate advice from masters here.

Basically I try to monitor and capture some values on a website continuously. It is fine, however I found that when the connection is lost eg internet down or connection reset by server etc... I would encounter errors.

I simplified my codes and use yahoo.com as an example, which can simulate the similar error. When the code is running few seconds, and if the IE object (the IE browser) is closed, the error appears as below:-

"

The requested action with this object has failed.:
ConsoleWrite("classname is "& $oDiv.className & @LF)
ConsoleWrite("classname is "& $oDiv^ ERROR

"

I don't know why $oDiv is still considered as an object when that happened. Is there another way to check before calling $oDiv.className?

Thanks for advice

#include <IE.au3>

Local $oIE = _IECreate("https://www.yahoo.com")
Local $oDIVs = _IETagNameGetCollection($oIE, "div")

While 1
      sleep (100)
      _FuncMain()
WEnd

Func _FuncMain()
   For $oDiv in $oDIVs
      If isobj($oDiv) then
         ConsoleWrite("classname is "& $oDiv.className & @LF)
      Else
         ConsoleWrite("Object Error." & @LF)
      EndIf
   Next
EndFunc

You are sure the object offers property className?

Or maybe

ConsoleWrite("classname is "& ObjName($oDiv) & @LF)

is what you are looking for?
