How Long Does A System Restore Take in Windows 10, 8 And 7?

Hey,

As a new member in the site i want to no how much time a system restoration can take?

while searching i found a article providing that it will take 30 minutes for system restoration can anyone have any idea on this? or the article explanation is true or false please provide information on it.It will be great help for me.

For example ... Dell SFF :  i5 + SSD + Win10 (fresh clean install) >>> USB HDD ... it takes about few minutes to create full backup which contain few GB of data.
... and the same few minutes to restore.

 

Any change in the system parameters and backup parameters, affects the time of creation and recovery needed for these operations.

30 minutes maybe if it fails out of the restore attempts and has to apply the recovery image, all my 'restore previous build' actions take 5-10 minutes (Win 10 - Dell 6530).

 A system restore is dependant on your hard drive type. 

SATA - will take about 30 minutes
IDE -  will take 1 hour to 2 hours

SSD - restore will take about 5 to 10 minutes with Corei7 7th gen CPU - hard drive capacity to restore is 500GB.

All components in a computer work with each other to make the end experience smooth. 
Thats just from my own presonal experince. You may have different results depending on your hardware type.

my ssd notebook will do it in about 8-10 minutes. and that is one of the lowliest cpu's around, ever. it can clean install in 8 flat from a usb drive though, so i just do that if i ever need to, which I don't. i love that stupid, under-powered HP notebook. best 250 bucks I ever spent on computing stuff (I had a spare Samsung SSD so I popped that in myself with a 40 dollar 8 gb mem upgrade, so 290 bucks total). I will eventually build a new box, but that mobile unit rocks with an A6 APU, it can even run 2 modest VMs at once... lol. it makes a great student or work machine. AND I can play old games like Thief the Dark Project on it with the hi rez mods and it plays SWEET
