# button text vertical alignment au3 v3.3.14.5 on W7/64

Posted (edited)

Good morning,

I am trying to align a two-line text in a button so that it would be centered in the button but can't succeed to do it for the vertical part.

Can someone tell me what I do wrong ?

Here is my code:

$btn3 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Execute " & @LF & " file 1", 100, 65, 60, 50, _ BitOr($BS_CENTER,$BS_BOTTOM,$BS_MULTILINE))

and here is the resulting layout I get in my window.

I tried to follow the help, made a lot of different parameter combinations (here it's $BS_BOTTOM, but I tried $BS_VCENTER and BS_TOP), still get the same result : vertical alignement is a no go for me. Can someone help ? TIA Gilles Edited by GillesMaisonneuve #### Share this post ##### Link to post ##### Share on other sites Posted (edited) BitOR(BS_VCENTER,$BS_MULTILINE) Works fine here. $cButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("Execute " & @CRLF & " file 1", 100, 65, 60, 50,$BS_MULTILINE)

GUISetState()

While 1

Switch GUIGetMsg()
Case GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitch WEnd But you appear to be using coloured buttons - which might be the root of your problem. There is a bug deep within AutoIt which means that colouring buttons leads to all sorts of problems, such as capturing the {ENTER} key and messing with the various styles. This bug is NOT going to be fixed so it is recommended NOT to use coloured buttons. Try removing the colour code and see if the vertical alignment works then - if so then you will have to choose which you want: colour or alignment. Thank you very much for you answers. Actually you were right, the colouring was the problem. Three kinds of instruction were causing the problem: ;~ GUICtrlSetDefColor(0x00004F) ;~ GUICtrlSetBkColor(btn3, 0XCFBFCF)
;~     GUICtrlSetColor($btn3,$COLOR_BLACK)

Now the text alignment is all right. (I kept the coloring for the other buttons and the window with no problem). (see image)

I already notices that colour rendering was peculiar on my screen : some colours won't display, a close one (white for some pale colors for instance) would be instead. I did not think that would be related to other bugs.

Too bad for me, I hoped to use colors in my GUIs. But it's not of deep matter.

@Watter: right I should have included more of my code. But then again the GUICtrlSetDefColor(0x00004F) instruction was many lines away from the buttons so that would have required a lot of ugly code to be provided to your reading... ;-)

@Melba23: when you say that this colour scheme is NOT going to be fixed, you mean never ever ?

Have a good day, all of you.

Gilles.

Instead of using colored buttons, you might want to try using one of the button skinning UDFs in the Example scripts forum here. You'll get much better looking buttons than just a flat colored one.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Hey there!
I am having a problem with clicking a button in IE. As you can see in the code, there would be a class name to click it, but since this button exists several times with exactly the same code, I can only use the "Noch nicht veröffentlicht" to separate it from the others. But this part is just pure text without any classification.
"<div class="checkmark" data-v-1e5b1f70=""><svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" class="icon" viewBox="0 0 16 16" data-v-1e5b1f70=""><circle cx="8" cy="8" r="8" data-v-1e5b1f70="" /></svg></div>Noch nicht veröffentlicht"
I was trying to click it with:
#include <IE.au3> local $oNNVs = _IEFormGetCollection($oIE2) For $oNNV in$oNNVs If String($oNNV.innertext) = "Noch nicht veröffentlicht" Then _IEAction($oNNV, "click") EndIf Next and:
$inputs =$oIE2.document.getElementsByTagName("div") For $input In$inputs If $input.innertext == "Noch nicht veröffentlicht" then$input.click() EndIf Next But nothing seems to work. Thanks for the help!

• So basically need to pull text from a .txt file or .sql and use that text to replace something within a different file.

First File:
jumps

Or:
Text1 = jumps
Text2 = fence
Second File:
My Dog XXXXX over the YYYYY.

After Script:
My Dog jumps over the fence

I have found a good start, I'm basic programmer at best, I have some experience but this gets out of my wheel house.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey Everyone, I haven't been here in a while and recently picked up my old project. Still an FNG!
To the point: I want to be able to push the button and either play an mp3, open a file, or open an exe program (all with the same button). The problem is that I don't know how to code for that at "case 1"
Case 1
Local $sRead = IniRead("config.ini", "Config", "One", "Default") SoundPlay($sRead, @HotKeyPressed)                                                                     <-------------------------------
Run($sRead, @HotKeyPressed) <------------------------------- This 'Run' doesn't work even by itself! See code below for layout. If you need more information I will attach more code or answer any questions. Any help is greatly appreciated. EndIf Local$sFileName = InputBox("INFORMATION:", "Please Name Your File?" & @CRLF _ & @CRLF _ & "6 Characters or Less", "") IniWrite(@ScriptDir & "\config.ini", "Config", "One", $sFileOpenDialog) IniWrite(@ScriptDir & "\config.ini", "Config", "NameOne",$sFileName) EndSwitch $iClickCount = 0 AdlibUnRegister() EndFunc • By misioooo Hi! I am writing some GUI and i need to use images as buttons, but with text on them (text is from INI file). Part with button looks like this:$ankieta1 = GUICtrlCreateButton($txtAnk1, 100,350,765,164) GUICtrlSetFont(-1, 22, 800, -1, "Arial") ;GUICtrlSetColor(-1,0xffffff)$hImageBtn_1 = _GUIImageList_Create(765, 164) _GUIImageList_AddBitmap($hImageBtn_1, "c:\path\to\ankieta_clean.bmp") _GUICtrlButton_SetImageList($ankieta1, \$hImageBtn_1, 4) GUICtrlSetOnEvent(-1, "On_Ankieta1") The problem - if i uncomment GUICtrlSetColor, color of text changes, but button is just plain gray (no image). How i can change text color not touching image on a button here?
