_Assert issue

Recommended Posts

When I use _Assert  to compare expected and actual value, the script pauses if assert fails and requires intervention to close the assert failure pop up box.

How do I make the script abort/end once assert fails. Currently the script pauses and waits to user to close the assert failure pop up .

You could use this code instead and you won't have to worry about the MsgBox.

Func _Assert($sCondition, $bExit = True, $iCode = 0x7FFFFFFF, $sLine = @ScriptLineNumber, Const $_iCurrentError = @error, Const $_iCurrentExtended = @extended)
    Local $bCondition = Execute($sCondition)
    If Not $bCondition Then
;       MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "AutoIt Assert", "Assertion Failed (Line " & $sLine & "): " & @CRLF & @CRLF & $sCondition)
        If $bExit Then Exit $iCode
    EndIf
    Return SetError($_iCurrentError, $_iCurrentExtended, $bCondition)
EndFunc   ;==>_Assert

Although, I am not sure as to when anyone would ever need to use this function, and what you'd be debugging using it.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You'd call it like this.

_AssertCustom($exp)

No need to use Call, in fact it's hardly ever needed to use Call.
