Retrieving ComboBox position, rather than its text

Recommended Posts

According to the documentation, GUICtrlRead returns the "value selected", which through trial and error I found was the 'TEXT' of the combo box item, not its position.   This was kind of surprise since I'm not passing the 'advanced' option parameter that enables the return of the text.

But I've got a long list of ComboBox values ("Ch0", "Ch1",  ...  "Ch32") that I'd like to see which is selected without comparing strings.   Is there a way for  GUICtrlRead to return the position of the selected value, not its text?

Why not use the _GuiCtrlComboBox_... UDFs?  For example: _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hWnd)

The GuiCtrlCreate... functions are builtin functions based upon WIndows API, however the _Gui... functions are UDFs created by members of Autoit community.
