If WinExists not detecting window

You have specified the control name in the Window Title parameter so makes sense things aren't working as expected.

You should check to see if it can detect the window using whatever parameter you choose for the title, and then see if the click action would work. You have to know if it's even able to detect it before you can click on something.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

If WinExists("frmMessagePopup", "Patient has no strip data") Then
            MsgBox(4096, "Error", "This record has no strip") ;
            MouseClick($MOUSE_CLICK_LEFT, 2841, 613) ;Close the dialoge

            Else
        EndIf

Even with this, nothing happens.

Im new to autoit and enjoying my little dive into its usages.... however id recommend getting into the routine of adding more error checking into the code that you are devising.

For example, documentation on the function says it can return either 0 or a 1.
https://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/docs/functions/WinExists.htm
If the call returns 0, then your code will know the call didnt go through to a proper window. If it returns 1, it may be a hidden window, but you know that it went through properly and your code may have some problem after that call.....

I myself would also think that youd want the end user to close that dialogue box that you used to notify them that the "record has no strip". I dont know what that screen position should resolve too, but id think itd be your msgbox call seeing as how it follows so quickly behind?
