Validate XML against XSD

I know nothing about XML/XSD - so I would be very grateful if any of you XML gurus could have a look at this post

When creating a Windows Scheduler Task (with the TaskScheduler UDF I'm currently working on) an XML is created and validated against an XSD by method RegisterTaskDefinition.
When there is an error in the task definition (missing properties etc.) I just get COM error 0x80020009 (General exception) without a meaningful description.

Method RegisterTaskDefinition allows to validate the XML. Unfortunately it just

• doesn't seem to grab all errors. A missing UserId parameter in the Trigger definition that inhibited to register the task was not identified as an error.
• If it finds an error I do not know where to find the error description (log file, event log ...)

I was able to export the XML (even in case of an error) to a file.
I tried to valdiate the XML with the XSD provided by MS on this site: http://www.utilities-online.info/xsdvalidation/
When I press the "Check XML well formed" button everything is fine. When I press the "Check XSD validity" button I get a lot of error messages in the following format:

columnNumber: 36; s4s-elt-schema-ns: The namespace of element 'schema' must be from the schema namespace, 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema'.

I would like to know:

• Can I expect from a XML validation to get all possible errors so that a well formed XML will not return errors on registration?
• What would be the easiest way to validate a XML? Is there an UDF that allows validation so that I can display errors to the user?
• What do I need to do to make the XSD a valid schema?

No, I just started today to play with XML validation.
As something seems to be wrong with the XSD (or the way I think it should work ) I stopped playing around and asked the community.
Some wise guy/girl will hopefully:

• tell me what is wrong with the XSD or what I need to do to make it work as expected
• what would be the best tool to integrate the XML validation into my Windows Task Scheduler UDF

To check if XML file and Schema are fine ... try to use Notepad++ with "XML Tool"

after installing in menu "Plugins" ( "Wtyczki" )  you should see "XML Tools" and "Validate now"

 

Could you confirm that Notepad++ validate this XML file properly?

I have already validated the XML with this online tool - no errors
Then I validated the XSD with this tool - lot of errors

From the XSD validation errors I posted it should be clear what is wrong for XML gurus

Do you think Notepad++ will return more detailed error information?

When I use this site and click "Check XSD Validity" then I get:

This mean that this XSD have few issues.

When I click "Validate XML against XSD" I get many errors.

So I click "Share os Save this example" and here you can look in the following example:

I think we need help here ... I hope @jdelaney or any other XML expert, will have some spare time to look here and help us.
