vulcan4d
I've been testing a whole bunch of ways by using UDFs from this forum and many are outdated or broken to send messages to a mobile device through different methods. Even sending gmail using _INetSmtpMailCom stopped working after a while (says sent but it actually hasn't). I'm curious what are you guys using to send messages to a phone? There are email to SMS options too but my carrier is quite useless with such feature. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've probably spent more time finding a method that works than actually coding my current project :p.
CYCho
I use a local online shopping mall's sms serice to send the result of my app's work to my phone. I belong to a local internet hobby club, whose web page is hosted by an online shopping mall. The shopping mall provides each club with several hundred a month of free messages to be sent through their sms portal. Of course there are plenty of commercial services available at fairly low cost but, If you look around, you may be able to find a free service though the quantity may be limited. I used WebDriver UDF to automate the process. rudi
Hi. To send notification SMS to mobile phones I use software calls SENDXMS by Böcherer Angewandte Informatik. https://www.bai.de/ It's payware, but it's extremly reliable and 100% in your own control. With a SMS flat SIM it also doesn't matter, if there are months, where even thousands of SMS have to be sent. Three components make the system: SendXMS (software) A GSM terminal (Hardware, a "GSM Mobile Phone with serial port") For virtualized environments: A Serial-to-Eth-Com-Server by Wiesemann & Theis Of course not the cheapest approach, but really a reliable one, and the VM doing all the monitoring can be moved around with VMOTION, no need to be hosted to that ESXi the GSM terminal is connected to by serial cable. Regards, Rudi. Earth is flat, pigs can fly, and Nuclear Power is SAFE!
