Yes, they seem to be in the major db vendors.  
But wait a sec, where are the prepared statements with replaceable parameters in SQLite/Autoit?

Like 

INSERT INTO table VALUES (?,?,?,?)

If every single statement sent thru autoit has to be prepared over and over again, that’s likely the reason for a big part of the gain from the chained insert scenario, do you agree?

Agree with @AspirinJunkie about both journalling being a fileDB thing and insert with multiple values (what I call "chained inserts") being mainstream. No RDBMS engine implements anything close to 95% of any recent SQL "standard". SQLite tends to favor features of PostgreSQL when they have similar counterparts in some other major RDBMSs. Of course its lite suffix limits what can be made part of the core but, as it stands today, SQLite is quite useable for a very large range of use cases.

In this case, you prepare the statement only once, {bind all parameters to your values and issue *_Step} (repeat {} ad nauseam) and finilize the statement.

I've long ago posted an example for bound parameters in SQLite, but due to the overhead incurred by invoking DllCall many times, it's almost always much slower than using _SQLite_Exec. In a C program (say) prepare is the major cycles sinkhole; in AutoIt it's DllCall.
