Running CMD Commands in background or silent or Hidden window mode in AuToIT.

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to run the below CMD command in hidden or silent or background mode (not visible to user) and then the window re appear after the code execution is complete.

#RequireAdmin
Sleep(2000)
Send('{LWIN}')
Sleep(2000)
Send("cmd")
Sleep(2000)
Send ('{SHIFTDOWN}')
Send('{CTRLDOWN}')
Send('{ENTER}')
Send('{CTRLUP}')
Send('{SHIFTUP}')
Sleep(3000)

;Below Code has to be in background window execution(CMD Window)

WinActivate ( "Adminstrator: Command Prompt" )
Sleep(2000)
Send("ping www.speedtest.net")
Send('{ENTER}')
Sleep(6000)

;Background CMD Window must now come to foreground as code execution is complete.

This is very similar to your earlier thread. Probably would have been best if you had continued the discussion there instead of starting a new thread.

Maybe we should take a step back and have you explain exactly what it is you are wanting to accomplish. Why do you need to perform the above in a hidden administrative command window? I'm guessing that your "ping" command is just an example. Can you tell us what commands you actually intend to send to this hidden window?

Code hard, but don’t hard code...

rajeevrra,

For the third (and final) time - just what is it you are trying to do here? What commands are you intending to send to this hidden Admin CMD window?

P.S. And just to be absolutely clear - this is the Mod team determining the legality of the thread, so everyone else please keep out.

I have clearly told, I am experimenting a piece of code for my utility software..  Thanks

When you are asked to provide more detailed information then that is what you have to do and not simply repeat what you stated before.
So don't try this again as we are serious when we ask more information!
