Hi  @drrehak

I would suggest looking at the discord API.

Quote

https://discord.com/api/v9/channels/{channel.id}/messages

seems to be the endpoint you need, and you can add:

Quote

?limit=1

to only get the latest channel message.

The only thing left for the endpoint to work, is a authentication token (for example via the Authorization header). Their API docs describe how all this works of course.

Its not my server. I believe to access the API I would need to own the server channel to get the token.

Not at all :)

If you got access, you can read from the API.

If you want to test this yourself, login via your browser open the web developer tools, go to the network tab and copy the value of your Authorization header from a XHR request.

I did this to verify that it works :)

the normal flow for getting the token requires you to register a developer application

you can read more about it here.
