post # - how to locate?

Really simple question but I can't seem to find answer.

Often in a discussion I'll see something like "See response in post #9 ".  How does one find the post number?

Alas, the forum software stopped giving post numbers quite a few updates ago. Jon managed to create a workaround for while, but further updates made even that too difficult.

The person refering to a post could rightclick the "Posted" time of the post and copy and paste the link to it. like if I rightclick jquinch's "Posted 33 minutes ago" and copy the link...

..it jumps to his post when clicked.

I'm brand new this forum.  In existing posts there are often references to previous posts - "See my post #xx".  I cannot see any post numbers on the posts nor does a search for "post #" bring up anything.  Any suggestions are appreciated.
