DBeaver with AutoIT - (Moved)

Hi Team,

I need your help for DBeaver integration for AutoIT. I tried but I can't do it.

Could you please help me about this?

When DBeaver opened we should click to Databases Menu and New Database Connection Submenu. After that I want to choose postgresql from the opened window and continue. I want it to enter the necessary information in the Main section and save the connection. Then I want it to connect over the relevant connection.

I used DBeaver few times last year. It is very handy tool to do advance stuff, and learning any specific DB Structure.

But why you want to automate DBeaver GUI ?
Isn't it better to use ADO.au3 to connect to the DB content?

Hi MLipok,

I want to use this application with Thycotic Secret Server (PAM) as Launcher. I couldn't open via CLI with CLI arguments. So, I decided to integrate with AutoIT. As a result I must open GUI with AutoIT.

Still do not understand why to use AutoIt with tools like DBeaver , which can be compared to Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
Such tools should be used manually with huge attention.

I very much agree with this post. the OP is just asking for trouble automating that which should never be automated.

DBAs don't ever do such things because it would be too dangerous even if possible.

My resources are limited. You must ask the right questions

Let me be the devil's advocate.  I remember when I was in charge of a corporate Oracle DB, I automated some operations like incremental backup at night.  It was a really perfect situation where automation can guarantee the quality of the process.  As we all know humans are prone to make mistakes.  But I agree that some other operations need to be made manually.  I wouldn't recommend restoring a DB automatically...

Greetings, My main goal is; Maybe some of you know. It is necessary to manage authorized accounts (such as root passwords of Linux servers, Local Admin accounts, DB sa users) in institutions (such as changing passwords periodically, connecting to the relevant db without knowing the sa password even if the db is admin). PAM solutions are used for these requests. My aim here is that the DB admin user can run the application (dbeaver, toad, mssql studio etc.) without knowing and seeing the sa password. I will send the connection information (username, password, database name, etc.) via PAM. As long as I can run the application with AutoIT and send data to the relevant fields. I hope I was able to explain. Thanks

i would never interact with send command, you want the Control functions. There is a tool that can tell you what specifically you want to work with in the GUI

 

dbeaver uses JDBC programming interface, or API, use that, or in AutoIt you need to learn about automating java based apps in FAQ 31
