Gary,

I am finally converting all the snippets from my old snippet ini into yours but I noticed something. The "backup data file" only backs up the ini file, it does not backup the xml files.

Also, In the View/edit snippet window; Shouldn't the Snippet Name and Snippet Category be disabled until the Edit Souce checkbox is checked.

Yeah the backup was for when the snippets were being stored in the ini

Probably don't need that now that they are stored in xml files

Also, In the View/edit snippet window; Shouldn't the Snippet Name and Snippet Category be disabled until the Edit Souce checkbox is checked.

No, you can change the snippet name or change what category the snippet is in at that point.

Edit: I'm thinking a search needs to be added as an option to find snippets.

Removed Back-up option (was for when snippets were stored all in 1 file "the ini")

Added Fuzzy Search

Note: Need help in unselecting a treeview item (selecting isn't a problem)

any chance this could me made as a stand alone app?

I dont use scite and would prefer this launch from any location, with or without scite

@blitzkrg - No plans at this time to make it a stand-a-lone.

v 1.0.5.0- (beta 3.1.1.128 or higher required)

enhanced search for both listview and treeview

Search starts from item selected (if any selected) and wraps back around

For Listview if the category column is visible then the search includes that column

Fixed scroll when searching in listview (now calculates the scroll amount by the rect of the 1st row)

I miss a couple of features as here can be read:

What I miss from Scite

there is quick-to-build add-on for Code Snippet without changing much code:

a button where all xml are ftpput() to any ftp server: SaveInFtp("*",1)

another menu on the left button SaveInftp($actualSnippet,1)

same from RestoreFromFtp(* FOR ALL, or $actualSnippet)

another button for comparing from the index.xml inthe ftp and index.xlm in the local pc if there are some changes checking size+date

another button for cleaning pc from UDFs, and autoit and scite itselft, like it was never there.(anyway now it is kept in FTP SERVER)

So when you start working you restore all from ftp

when you finish work with autoit you saveall in ftp, your uptodate work is in the server and in the last place where you worked

* Write in an ini file to keep the passwords and options

* another option if you want selfcheck every minute if there are any changes in the index.xml(local and remote) and SYNC

*another xml file in the ftp server, to keep an index from all snippets and dates/size to be changed to detect when a new snippet is made

*another option to make a real ftpbackup(apart of sync), keep a date_actual_ snippets root (ftpbackups), so make RESTORE points, after some days of intense code-writing.

*of course keep not only snippets but also a complete backup of *.au3(*.xml), also *.ini (compiling), *.jpg,*.ico, most used files for making the exes.

I dont know if there is a similar version of AUTOIT, like the binary one, where you download directly in one zip AUTOIT+SCITE, and after unziping (not installing) you can run an exe which makes changes in the registry (register extensions, and more)

so that you can start coding directly, now you have to install and install, and next next next next ....... :whistle:

Code snippet seems to fit what I want ...

But can it run without Scite ?

Not sure I will make a version with-out SciTE dependability.

Well, i tried to use it and it gives me a variety of errors when i try to launch it. i got rid of a couple of them by moving my items into the A3 folder... but now its saying; "

Suggest unzipping it to the cSnippet folder with-in the SciTE folder
