Second-Order Map value loss when subvalue is a map (3.3.16.1)

Recommended Posts

This map is like:

$g_mImageIndex[1]['Name'] = 'Windows 7 Pro'

$g_mImageIndex[1]['xxx'] = 'xxx'

$g_mImageIndex[2]['Name'] = 'Windows 7 Ult'

$g_mImageIndex[2]['xxx'] = 'xxx'

.....

It is defined as a global variable at the top of code.

Normal when firstly written ($g_mImageIndex[4] below):

(Col 0: key; Col 1: Value)

Snipaste_2023-01-14_17-04-33.png.f78b97fbdecd69976d1ec26a80b75ed8.png

But when calling the callback msg func, this map ($g_mImageIndex[4]) becomes:

Snipaste_2023-01-14_17-05-53.png.f53c1b27d73336d939b20264053dd516.png

Place for writing this map:

$g_mImageIndex = ImageX_ReadIndex($Path_ImageX, $sImagePath) ;Returns a second-order map which contains image info.

Place for re-reading this map:

Func Msg_Rec($iCtrl)
    Switch $iCtrl

        Case $Combo_Rec_Index
                Local $iIndex = ComboBox_GetCurSel($Combo_Rec_Index) + 1
                pause($g_mImageIndex[$iIndex])

BlueSkyMemory,

Are you dealing with Maps or Arrays? Because using 2 indices to define an element (as you do in your code: $g_mImageIndex [2] ['xxx') only applies to arrays, whereas maps use just a single key.

I suggest you write a simple reproducer script using hard coded values for the various elements so we can see what is going on - because at the moment it is far from clear to me just exactly what you are trying to do and what might be going wrong.

@Melba23I suppose the OP means a Map containing a Map, like in:

Local $m[], $p[]

$m["foot"] = 123
$m[9] = "abc"
$p["bare"] = $m
$p["Pi"] = 3.1415926
$p["answer"] = 42

; many valid suntaxes to access inner array
ConsoleWrite($p.bare.foot & @LF)
ConsoleWrite(($p.bare)["foot"] & @LF)
ConsoleWrite(($p["bare"]).foot & @LF)
ConsoleWrite($p["bare"].foot & @LF)
ConsoleWrite(($p["bare"])["foot"] & @LF)
ConsoleWrite($p["bare"]["foot"] & @LF)

; variable dump of $p
VD($p)

VD() is a homebrew function. It yields this:

123
123
123
123
123
123
Map[3]
      ['bare']               => Map[2]
            ['foot']               => Int32              123
            [9]                    => String(3)          'abc'
      ['Pi']                 => Double             3.1415926
      ['answer']             => Int32              42

Now I second @Melba23advice to post a self-contained, short reproducer code.

Sorry for not debugging carefully.

This error is because the key type is a string and I forget to compulsively transform it to number.

I define the key firsty number but when it gets in another For-Loop it becomes a string.

Good Lesson. Good luck for you guys, Thank you!😉
