I am very new to AutoIT and exploring topic by topic in documentation and forums. I need a help here with one of the basic thing.

I have a window and 2-3 textboxes inside it. I need to confirm if the window is present. Then, i have to type username, password, and choose a value from a dropdown and then click a button.

If WinExists("Log on") Then
    Sleep(2000)
        Send($username)
        Send("{TAB}")
        Send($Password)
        Send("{Enter}")
EndIf

I wrote the above code for just entering username and password and clicking enter. But, the problem is the cursor might be anywhere in the textboxes. It need not be exactly in username textbox. Hence, the code I wrote, enters username in password textbox.

I tried to check for different property of the textboxes. The instance only is different for the textboxes.

ControlSetText("[title:Log on; CLASS:ThunderRT6FormDC]", "", "[CLASS:ThunderRT6TextBox; INSTANCE:2]", "")
Send($username)

I tried to write the code like the above. But this doesnt seem to work. Can someone explain why it is not working
