No, AutoIt uses dlls that are from Windows.

Even if you 'make' the source code, it would not work.

Try using command line applications and use Perl as the scripting language.

If you need more help on Linux, you can PM me.

I am going to Linux,is there any way to port AutoIt programming to a Linux Debian based OS?

If there is no way, what else can be similar to it? (I need scripting to automatize some procedures on a Linux Server Machine).

Thanx in advance

I'm running AutoIT Prod and Beta 106 under WINE on SUSE 10.1 right now. I use kchmviewer to open the help file natively under KDE. I have SciTE running under WINE, but with small glitches, like the pop-up context help is broke. Under WINE, even the RegRead() and RegWrite() functions work fine. There is also a native Linux version of SciTE, but it doesn't list AutoIT as one of its supported languages.

All that is to say you can write and compile for Windows while working on Linux, but the others were correct that scripting for a Linux target environment should be done in shell script (non-gui) or Perl/Python/I-don't-know-what for a GUI.

This is actually a new area of interest for me too. In KDE and/or GNOME windowing environments, what are the standard GUI scripting languages? (DCOP, Kommander, what for GNOME?)
