I Give Up

Recommended Posts

For $I = 1 To 3
$Key_Var = RegEnumKey('HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\',$I)
If @Error <> 0 Then ExitLoop
$Line = RegRead ($Key_Var,'DisplayName')
MsgBox(0,@Error,$Key_Var & @LF & $Line)
Next

@Error for $Line returns 1 (unable to open requested key) and I can't see where it's wrong. I've used similar code many times and it works.

Cyberslug I don't know how you managed to have it work for you but as soon as I saw Larry's answer I gave my head a slap (maybe that will help) The answer was just way too simple and when I went and looked at other code I had, I remembered that it had been a problem before. Certainly it can't work because the key $Key_Var does not exist but the key 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\' & $Key_Var does. Thanks Lar. BTW I'm also working on the new version of an app that you and I had trouble with before. That app is so old that it still uses your AutoItGui.exe :)
