jacksont123
say if i wanted to startup a file when ever the comp. turns on; would it be best to have it startup in the registry, or make a shortcut to the file in the userprofile's startup folder in the programs menu? which would work best on most computers? EDIT: i think it would be best to have it startup in the registry, because the shortcut that could be in the startup folder can be very easily deleted is there any objections? PsaltyDS
Same. For people like me and Valuater install it to the start-up dir or somethingI agree completely about minimizing things like that going into the registry... but...it depends on when you need the server service available. Putting a link in StartUp will require a login before the service is available. Running something as a service, which can be started and provide service with nobody logged on the computer, is necesary in many situations. The setup for running it as a service is, of course, entirely in the registry. The deciding factor is if the service must be available with nobody logged on. Valuater's AutoIt 1-2-3, Class...
