fileinstall question

Recommended Posts

From what I understand, if I use the fileinstall function in an exe. the files extracted to the temp directory are suppose to automatically delete....that is not happening. Do I have this wrong? Do I have to put in a function to delete the files upon exit?

oops... i forgot the call... hehe

$Program_1 = @TempDir & "\Temp1.exe"
$Program_2 = @TempDir & "\Temp2.exe"
FileInstall("C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\scripts\mcaffee\setup.exe", $Program_1)
FileInstall("C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\scripts\mcaffee\OrchestratorClientInstall.exe", $Program_2)
Run($Program_1)

... script

Run($Program_2)

... script

;cleanup
FileDelete(@TempDir & "\Temp1.exe")
FileDelete(@TempDir & "\Temp2.exe")

happy scripting

FileInstall will not delete files. It's just a method to include a file into a compiled script and then extract it when required. If the script is not compiled then a FileCopy is performed instead.
