ie.au3 help..

Recommended Posts

Would like to grab url of IE window. Would it be written like this (I'm not sure I understand $o_object)

This would grab the url of current window(not created by this script but opened by user)

#include "C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\beta\include\ie.au3"
$url = ''
$ieobj = ''
opt("WinTitleMatchMode",2)
While 1
$ieobj = WinGetHandle(" -Microsoft Internet Explorer")
$url = _IEPropertyGet ($ieobj, "locationurl")
if $url <> 0 Then
msgbox(0,$url,$url)
EndIf
WEnd

The above does not work properly. I need help.

$o_object is NOT a window handle - it is a COM object (it is a different type of variant in AutoIt).

You need to take a look at _IEAttach() I think.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
