Ping("www.msn.com")

Recommended Posts

Why does it fail always when I do ping("www.msn.com") but it doesn't fail when I do ping("www.hiddensoft.com") from the example.

I have no idea why this happens but it is not caused by AutoIt. If you try the same thing in a command prompt you will get the same result, least ways I do.

That was the first thing I tried (command prompt). The error says the host is offline in AutoIt.

I googled, but, they didn't seem to know either (googled "can't ping MSN"):

Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.

Ping is a simple service / protocoll. You can turn it of, or have your firewall block it. So if you want to see if www.msn.com is alive use InetGet and try a page that will return a 404 (not on this server).
