SciTe colours don't work

Recommended Posts

This may be a quick thing to fix, but I can't find it. I have just installed the latest AutoIt and SciTe on my new PC, and now the au3 script colours are not working ! everything is in black. Can anyone please point me to where the colour files are ? I know I can change the colours using ctrl-1 but I don't want to have to try and re-create the colour file.

cheers

In Scite Menu, go to Options -> Open User Options File. Changes made will be stored in there. You can delete all in there to fix. If unsure of keeping any personal settings, then post up the info or can pm me the contents and will advise.

If it is saving from SciteConfig, then you will see text in the file as such

Did you install the 6/26/2006 version ?

Any idea what you did to get into this state ?

reason for asking is that there was an issue with SciTEConfig before the 6/26 release that would "remove" all colors when running SciTEConfig with SciTE started, but that should be fixed..

Thanks for the responses guys, I will try these and see how I get on.

I have a new PC, and just downloaded the latest files from http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/index.php

I the ran the SciTe install first, as I thought that it included AutoIT. That gave me a message that said AutoIT was not installed, so I ended that and downloaded the latest AutoIT file 3.1.1, installed that and then installed SciTe, and it did not colour the script for me, or work when pressing F1 on a keyword. I have uninstalled them both, and will install them again in the correct order. I will need to download them again, as I was a bit quick off the mark in deleting the install files, and clearing the Recycle bin !

I will let you know how I get on.

cheers

Interesting. . . . ., I have just installed AutoIT 3.1.1, and this went well. I then installed SciTe from the file SciTe4AutoIt3.exe, and ended up with 4 SciTe icons on my desktop, only one of them with a valid Icon ?

The colours aren't working, so I will try the options above.

THE POST 205268

Interesting. . . . ., I have just installed AutoIT 3.1.1, and this went well. I then installed SciTe from the file SciTe4AutoIt3.exe, and ended up with 4 SciTe icons on my desktop, only one of them with a valid Icon ?The colours aren't working, so I will try the options above.

I got it working. I copied the contents from MHz post and copied it over my user settings, and it burst into life. Odd though. . . Here is the original file contents, if it helps in debuggin.

cheers
