Reading Input box

Recommended Posts

i want it so that once the person puts the file path into the input box and press ok it will set a variable as the file path.

here is what i have:

#region --- GuiBuilder code Start ---

#include <GuiConstants.au3>

GuiCreate("Configuration", 458, 166,-1, -1 , BitOR($WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW, $WS_CLIPSIBLINGS))

$Label_1 = GuiCtrlCreateLabel("Warcraft III Location", 170, 10, 100, 20)

$Label_2 = GuiCtrlCreateLabel("Right click on your Warcraft shortcut and Select Properties. Go to the Shortcut Tab. Copy the text in the Target section and paste it below.", 60, 40, 330, 30)

$Input_1 = GuiCtrlCreateInput("", 10, 90, 440, 20)

$Button_1 = GuiCtrlCreateButton("OK", 160, 120, 120, 30)

While 1

$msg = GuiGetMsg()

Case $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE

Case Else

#endregion --- GuiBuilder generated code End ---

how would i do it?? also how can i make a browse button so thehy can select warcraft

Edit: Look at FileOpenDialog

And to read the inputbox use GuiCtrlRead something like $read=GuiCtrLReaD($input_1....)

try using

$ Filepath = GuictrlRead($Input_1)

Does that help?

Also may be you might want to consider reading from the registry to read the file path instead of looking it up manually
