Integration with Python

I am writing an AutoIT script that will be called from a Python program - is there any way to allow the 2 to interact, so that if the AutoIT script fails, it returns specific error codes (of my choosing) to Python? This would really be helpful in terms of error handling. Thanks.

I don't know Python at all, but if you have access to the StdOut and StdErr output from a program, you can use ConsoleWrite and ConsoleWriteError.

If you redirect errors (see the help file, "Running AutoIt") then you can capture the text that normally appears in a window when the script crashes.
