Need to replace multiple characters in a single string

Recommended Posts

What if I have a string of text and I have to replace more than one character in that string.

The string is in an array so:

$a_filenew = StringReplace($a_file[$x],":",";")

$a_filenew = StringReplace($a_file[$x],"|","-")

$a_filenew = StringReplace($a_file[$x],"&","and")

doesn't work

What would be the code that would do this?

Time to introduce you to nesting functions, where the returned data from a function becomes the input parameter to another function:

$a_filenew = StringReplace(StringReplace(StringReplace($a_file[$x], ":", ";"), "|", "-"), "&", "and")

:)
