Help: tell IE to update the proxy after registry hack ?

Hi,

Could anyone tell me how to tell the current IE page to update the proxy right after the registry hack?

At the moment, I did:

RegWrite("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings", "ProxyServer", "REG_SZ", $sProxy & $sPort)
Run("C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE")
WinWait("Google")
WinClose("Google")

Because my default page is google, I tried to open a new page with IE. This will tell the IE to update, and then closed this google page immediately. It worked. However, sometimes I used the IE page so quickly after the update that the proxy was still the original one.

I searched and found this thread:

ParoXsitiC mentioned about making a DllCall to WININET.DLL.

Could anyone please tell me how to call this DLL or is there any better way?

Hi,

I just close the IE proces and start it again.

It will read the new settings after that.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I wanted to do it on the fly (i.e. I don't want to close the current page).

Any help ?

I searched and read through many threads before opening this one to ask. I am wondering if the link I provided in my first post is what you mentioned, Dale?

In that thread, ParoXsitiC used the script to open the internet properties and updated the options inside.

He also mentioned to use DllCall but the thread was left open. I am wondering how to make that DllCall.

Nope, it was this thread. It didn't focus on proxy setting, but includes the DLLCall taht you should be able to use to make changes immediate.
