Fossil Rock
You're not going to beat a network admin at his own game. They can easily monitor computers on networks without you ever knowing about it.NOTE: This is one of the reasons netadmins love AuotIT! Fossil Rock
PS I know for sure they haven't put any monitoring software on my computerThere is simply no way you can know for sure. I've been a network admin for 15 years and I can do pretty much anything I want on a network ( and have ) without detection by the users. Other admins, in my company, would certainly be able to detect my efforts, but they wouldn't need to because they were using alot of my routines to protect their networks as well.If you want to defeat your opponent ( which is very unlikely in this case ) you had better be well equipped to do so... meaning your arsenal has to be better than theirs, and they definitely already have the upper hand.Got a question for you.... who was the 44th president ? Don't look it up, just answer it if you can. If you can't you might want to think about studying more and forget about the cloak and dagger with the school's equipment. You want to see an example of things admins can do? Watch this. Notice that on the top button bar there is an option to "View only" that the demo did not cover, but clearly shows they can watch you without you ever knowing. Agreement is not necessary - thinking for one's self is!
jinxter
why not have the files on a USB-drive ? which you carry with you... no network admin, no matter how good they are can browse a usbdrive while it's not connected to a computer... (all except me that is ) and... suggest to your school that you should use thinclients or reinstall their computers every morning... > there are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't. FeReNGi
and efs don't work either. You always can make a directory and remove all access to it accept yours. But when an admin take control he can always take over.... Make a local policy that an admin has to logon to the computer would also be nice... Disable access from network... But i think you need admin rights to do that stuff.... Edited October 3, 2006 by FeReNGi ServicesPE|LoadVMDK
lod3n
You could create a Bart's PE disc, and boot Windows from CD with Firefox installed. But Fossil Rock is right. You should get to work. You can laugh it all off now, but ten years from now you're going to be kicking yourself, and ten years comes up behind you really fast. Confuzzled
Lets look at some of the issues you have raised:You are interested in porn: You sick puppy. Get a real life. Discover real girls. They are far more interesting than anything you can download. Too much porn can distort your view on real life and make you into an undesirable character to mix with when you do go out and meet real people. You are storing porn files on a PC: The deleted files can be detected by most file recovery software without a lot of effort, and undeleted as well. You are leaving behind a trail that can be easily followed. You are storing private stuff on a school computer: School property means they say what goes on there, and they have full rights to do whatever they like with it.You are downloading or accessing porn using the school network: The network admin can easily log all sites you visit, and all files accessed by you.You are breaking school guidelines on computer usage: This will get you into hot water. At least the teacher and network admin will be watching you closely, at worst the staff and your parents will be notified and the authorities alerted and you will be thrown out of school or jailed. In summary: Let this be a lesson. Get a real life and go out and socialise a bit more. Don't try and outsmart the network admins - remember they have a lot of smart and experienced adults they can call on to help identify and track your computer usage. If it becomes a war of escalating sophistication, rest assured they will win (eventually). In regards to your original code: Clumsy and easily foiled.
