There is no native function for a tab control that will disable a tab. There is a notification message that is sent when a tab is clicked (before the tab actually changes) that you would need to monitor and return False for the tab(s) that you want to "disable". There is a demo script in Auto3Lib that shows how to tap the notification message from a tab control if you're still interested.
