Stupid newbie question (I think)

Is there an easy way to make a call to a web page ( in the background ) and read the html output for certain text, then display just that wanted text in a message box?

I am trying to write a script that will retrieve information via WMI from a Windows server. Then I want to use some of that info (serial number and oemstringarray) to look up on HP's website the warranty info (without opening a browser) and then scrape the wanted warranty info out and displaying in a GUI or message box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi,

try _InetgetSource and then search the string.

  • Moderators

_InetGetSource() + _StringBetween()

Or

_InetGetSource() + StringRegExp()

Or

Look up _IE* functions in the help file, I believe there is an _IEAction or something that has a "visible" option, and I know it can retrieve the html source most of the time.

Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
