Event Checker(HOW DO I?)

Hello need to add some code to constantly check the time and interupt my programs flow from anywhere. I dont want to make 20 checks for such a state, seems silly. Is there a way I can do this without adding code in every loop/function?

I did some thinking.. if I have a program in the background checking the time constantly, could i have it press a key , thus causing my main program to activate a function via a HOTKEY?

do they have a function that works like a HOT expression? lol(for lack of a better term)

Hope someone can come up with a better way to do this..
