Matg40
Hi! How could I check with AutoIt if a specific entry is contained in the start menu? * how is it possible to open the start menu (is there an .exe ...) ? * how can I check the entry? Best regards Matg40 (Sorry for the bad English)
tAKTelapis
c:\documents and settings\%username%\Start Menu\ and c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu\ Those two spaces are where shortcuts etc are generally stored, if it is in the all users start menu, then it will show for all users, and if it is in the individual profile it will only show for that user why call an exe to open the start menu? simply send windows key + r (else, ctrl+esc does it aswell) whats the idea of this anyways? depending on what you are after exactly there may be a better way to go about getting the information you need from the computer
dabus
This will check for a link and create it if it's not present. If Not FileExists(@StartMenuDir & "\Test.lnk") Then FileCreateShortcut(@ScriptFullPath, @StartMenuDir & "\Test.lnk", @ScriptDir, "", "Create me") EndIf Also check FileGetShortcut Edited March 16, 2007 by dabus
Matg40
Hi! Thanks for all the answers ! I forgot to write that the test will be run under Vista... but it works with the macro @StartmenuCommonDir. Another problem: some shortcuts are not visible in the startmenu (but links are there)... problems with user/admin rights? I´m logged in as Admin...
