Zoli1972
Hi, I have created a GUI that has some blinking icons. I made the blinking simply by showing/hiding the icons every 500 millisecond. My problem is now, if the GUI window doesnt have focus (that means, it is in background, i.e. while working on another window) my GUI icons should keep blinking, but they dont. The icons stop blinking, when another window is in foreground, and resume blinking, when my GUI is in foreground again. How can I get rid of this behaviour? I think it has something to do with the properties of my GUI window. How should I set them, to let my icons blink at any circumstances. Zoli1972
Hi, It's quite simple. #include <GUIConstants.au3> GUICreate("Title") GUISetState() $Icon = GUICtrlCreateIcon("shell32.dll", 3, 100, 100) While 1 ControlShow("","", $Icon) Sleep(500) ControlHide("","", $Icon) Sleep(500) WEnd GUICreate That was created in Windows 2000 and tested on XP machines also, same result. Zoli1972
Edit: The last line With "GUICreate" was mistyped, and does not belong to the original code. Zoli

Many thanks. That was very helpful. I re-wrote my script using your suggestions. My icons are blinking now, even without focus on the window.
