Return IPAdress

Recommended Posts

domain names dont typically has http as PART of the domain name.

to resolve the domain name google.com the simple solution is to ping it (ping google.com) and it will tell you the IP adress.

Ok, I'll try that once I get back home from school. :shocked:

Or you can use nslookup:

$sAddress = "www.google.com"
$sResult = _NSLookup($sAddress)
MsgBox(64, "Test", "NSLookup Result: " & $sAddress & @CRLF & $sResult)

Func _NSLookup($DnsName = @ComputerName)
    Local $RET = ""
    Local $PID = Run(@ComSpec & " /c nslookup -querytype=all " & $DnsName, @TempDir, @SW_MINIMIZE, 2) ; 2 = $STDOUT_CHILD
    While 1
        $RET &= StdoutRead($PID)
        If @error Then Return $RET
    WEnd
EndFunc   ;==>_NSLookup
